Happy 22nd birthday Ryan!

Hard to believe that 22 yrs ago on Easter Sunday morning I gave birth to my firstborn son. From day one he's been such a great kid. Words alone cannot express what a blessing he has been in our lives. Now he's a man, trying to make it in this big crazy world and I'd be a liar if I didn't admit I'm still very protective of him. (sorry Ry, it's a mother bear thing)...but I just wanted to say how proud I am of the man you've become.

ramblings of a mad housewife

Why is it that every morning I wake hopeful that I am going to tackle a new project and find my day half over only to have accomplished the mundane? (dishes, laundry, cooking, etc.) There has got to be a better way to keep myself on task. I have made "to-do" lists and I just end up transferring the same things onto a new "to-do" list which is longer than the first.

I have been planning this laundry room re-do for over 6 months. (actually since I painted my kitchen yellow over a year ago) I still had nearly a full can of paint and primer left over and figured that would be enough to do the 6x14 space. Only problem is there were some bad drywall spots that dh (dear husband) had to touch up with mud before I could carry out my mission. I'm getting antsy. Maybe today I'll get those walls washed and start the primer on the "safe" areas....or, maybe I'll put it on that ongoing "to-do" list and have another cup of coffee.

Me and my three favorite girls!

Probably one of the best days of my life hanging out at the Freda Beach. It is a day I will remember forever...hanging out with my mom and my daughters, picking beach glass and looking for agates. The four of us all alone on the beach of Lake Superior, getting sunburned and laughing and swimming. We can't wait to do it again this summer.

My wonderful and practically perfect, highly intelligent daughter is teaching me how to use this...
