So I thought today was a good day to share a painting Jennifer did for her boyfriend's apartment. It's a very abstract painting of the Chicago cityscape. He absolutely loved it and now his sister has contracted Jen's services to do the Boston cityscape for their new home.
I cannot imagine having the vision to break a photograph down into values and hues to actually paint it on canvas. She's a pretty amazing artist even though her concentration is photography.
The senior portrait business is going well. It started out slow but she has already done more than she did last year and is still getting contracted for more. It's really funny but the majority of the portraits have been guys.
I'm pretty proud of her accomplishments and admire her guts to just "do it".

Catching up with several posts. Talented daughter! Yeah God for the break up. There is a scripture that came to mind---it's a little strange but God taught me a lot about His ways through this scripture years ago.
Joel 2:25 "Then I will make up to you for the years That the swarming locust has eaten, The creeping locust, the stripping locust and the gnawing locust, My great army which I sent among you.
What God allows to purge He then will come in and restore. I think we all go through spiritual house cleaning at times to become more teachable, become more like Him and less "us". But He is so loving that He will unfold amazing blessings afterward.
Praying that God honors him for making a wise, hard choice. Praying that He revives all of you. Sometimes a mom's heart is truly tested.
I totally LOVE this painting...I want Jennifer to do another one for my new and improved living room with all of her spare time...HAH...and you need a day (or more) of downtime...I totally know what you mean because I feel wiped out and all I can think about is taking a nap!
That picture is stunning. Seriously stunning. My jaw dropped looking at it. She is extremely talented, my friend.
