Another ORTHOPEDIC appointment! On my birthday, Pat called me from work and sort of danced around the fact that he was in the EMERGENCY ROOM getting an X-Ray. He was moving a piece of equipment in the lab and felt a POP in his inner elbow with intense pain.
Well thank goodness Jen dates the son of an orthopedic surgeon...They got him in immediately for an MRI yesterday and called this morning to see the doctor in their group that specializes in distal biceps tendon ruptures. Yep, he's getting surgery to re-attach the tendon. We'll find out today when they plan on doing it. *sigh...he's really bummed out since he enjoys working out, lifting weights, etc. Hockey season starts in a month and he's a "hands on" kind of coach. He just doesn't have time for this.

Okay, I would have been fine with all this except for one of the pictures. OH GLORY! Well, hope it goes well. Maybe he can be a good example in how to overcome when reality smacks you in the elbow and you keep going on, even if it is in a different way. Must think of chocolate now to get that image out of my mind. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate----
Oh I know I cannot stand the sight of that!!! OMG! I couldn't stand talking about it with you and dad that day, I felt all woozy and nauseous....BARF!
Oh my goodness! How incredibly painful. My sister Sharon's husband, the logger, had a limb hit his arm as a tree came down. Thank goodness that is all that was hit. His arm muscle was snapped and curled up like that. It was a painful thing. He missed only a few days of work though, and was back at it. It didn't hurt his sense of humor, while in great pain he had everyone waiting on him and joked that he need to get one of those "Scooters."
I Ray's is a quick recovery.
