Well today the backdrop support finally showed up. Jen and I went out to the studio early and kicked some major butt on all the "little things" that needed to be done while we waited for Jordy to come by with a zillion little things we forgot and especially the UPS box we've been waiting for. (you have to keep in mind the studio is about a half hour drive from our house. The nice thing is that it's centrally located... but a long drive to run back home for a level and an iron to steam out the wrinkles out of a backdrop.)
I was so thankful Jordy showed up to assist Jen in all the technical stuff (since she too is a photography/graphic design major). Between the two of them, they got all the lighting and backdrops situated, testing the lighting with the light meter, etc. Jordy brought her wedding dress and Jen shot a bunch of photos, testing the lighting and getting comfortable in her new place. In the meantime while they played...Cinderella was painting and caulking and waxing floors. We didn't leave there until 1:30. We are so beat. It's been a l.o.n.g. day.
...Tomorrow (or should I say later today?) is the first studio session in the new building. I'm so proud of her and wish her God's blessings upon this new and exciting endeavor.
Now I'm hitting the hot tub to relax my weary 44 year old achy joints/muscles/bones. I may just have to take a little nap today. Some cool pics of the studio to follow but Jen is too dang tired to send 'em to me right now.

The pictures turned out beautiful. Your daughter will be successful. I love to see people begin a business and follow their dreams.
You are such a good mother Connie. You are helping your daughter get that extra starting help needed, and the encouragement you must be showering her with. You remind me of son's Kindergarten teacher's mother. The mother of the teacher helped her quietly in the background. Soon the daughter was on her feet. I am watching and learning from both of you. Have a pleasant and restful evening. I'm glad the backdrop showed up. Kathi
When I grow up, I want to be just like you. Oh wait, I am as grown up as you. Ok then, when my kids grow up, I want to be just like you. Here's the problem, when my kids are in their 20's, I am going to be in my 50's/early 60's. Is that frigtening or what? I love hearing about all that you are doing and what your kids do. I really stand in awe that your daughter has that studio up and running. I just don't think I would have had the confidence or maturity to have done that at such a young age. I am really impressed and I cannot wait to see more of her work. The pics of the bride to be are really beautiful. Wow! Well done!
Thanks for the comments and the lovely compliments. I just told my husband it's like teaching a kid to ride a bike...You're running behind, pushing/holding them up...and then they just take off...riding on their own...and they keep moving forward. It's a good feeling.
