Surprise visit

Jen booked her first senior picture sitting for June 17 and it's all studio shots. She's leaving for Chicago on Thursday, flying to Salt Lake City on Friday, driving to Elko Nevada to attend a wedding on Saturday, flying back to Chicago and taking the train back on Monday. Tuesday is the 17th. She's still waiting for the frame for the backdrops which hasn't even shipped out yet. One of the lights they sent was faulty so she's also waiting for that to be delivered. Yikes. This is going to be close.

Today we had Pat come out to build some pillars, do some electrical work, and hang a mirror in the bathroom. We had a surprise visit from the "landlord". We have just been dying to see his reaction to the major overhaul on his building. I'm not gonna lie...it was pretty gross. Needless to say, he was very surprised...I think he was almost a little embarassed that a couple of chicks could accomplish as much as we did and make that place look so good. It was priceless. He told Jen he'd pay the electric bill this month and she could take the price of her materials off the next month's rent. (which, by the way...is a great deal). He told us the realtor came by to take her sign back (he took the building off the market because it never sold) and she told him the place looked amazing. I'm sure he was curious to see what that meant. We're so glad he took it off the market...wouldn't that be great if all the work we did was only to help him sell his building?

We spray painted a bazillion chairs today. I have a "huffing" headache. (not really...but my kids jokingly say I'm a huffer because I love, love, love to spraypaint everything.) I'm pretty sure my headache is from being exhausted...anyways, we painted one chair red, one is navy blue, one is chartreuse, two are white as well as two white children's chairs , and the stool is black. It was a very productive day. I hung a mirror in the bathroom, Pat hung the medicine chest in the other bathroom, Jennifer hung pictures in the changing room and small bathroom, and we arranged the office. I swept all the floors again and organized our tool area. It's so nice to walk in and have it all orderly.

The boys have exams tomorrow. I sure hope they studied tonight because I didn't even get home until after midnight which was too late to ask. I feel like I haven't seen them in days. This studio just has to be done by this week so we can resume our lives back to normal.
...what I'm thankful for today? ...sleep, precious sleep.
